Adhesive Waterstop
Synko-Flex, a non-swelling, preformed adhesive waterstop is a proven,
economical alternative to conventional PVC waterstops. Used on cold joints
at footings, walls or slab joints, Synko-Flex is simple to install and
requires no split forming, welding of splices or wiring to rebar. Its ease
of installation means substantial savings on labor costs.
Unlike bentonite waterstops, Synko-Flex does not expand or swell through
contact with water to achieve a watertight seal. Synko-Flex achieves a
watertight seal by bonding to the fresh concrete during the curing process.
Because Synko-Flex does not rely on swelling within the joint, there is
never a risk of blowing out a joint, even if the material is not centered
properly. In addition, it is unaffected by rain, infiltrating groundwater
and cyclical water conditions.
